Original Lime Pie Making
The Lime pie is an American dessert made out of lime juice, egg yolks, and condensed milk, with a soft base made out of sweet butter cookies. It has the flavorful zest that matches the sweetness of the cream, so you and others won’t be bored with the flavors playing together!
This recipe creates one nine-inch pie or eight slices.

- 200 grams of butter biscuits, already minced and crumbled
- 100 grams of melted butter
- 30 grams of white sugar, sifted
- Five egg yolks
- 500 grams of condensed milk
- 150 milliliters of lemon juice
- 7 grams of grated lime peeling
- Juice of one lime
- 100 milliliters of whipping cream
- One lime
Steps to Follow:
1. If the buttered biscuits aren’t crumbled yet, but it in a zip lock to hit with a rolling pin, or you can add it to the food processor. In a bowl, put the crumbled biscuits, butter, and the sugar together, mixing it well.
2. Put the base mixture on a nine-inch pie pan, laying it down and applying pressure with your hands to make the base evenly distributed throughout the pan.
3. Place the base in the oven and let it cook for 10 minutes under 150 degrees Celsius.
4. Place the egg yolks in a large bowl, beating all of it until it turns pale and smooth. Slowly pour in the condensed milk with the eggs, beating them well. After that, add the grated lime and the juice into the mixture, mixing it in low speed for around two minutes or until everything is well-incorporated.
5. Pour the mixture into the pie mold and place it in the oven. Bake it for 20 to 25 minutes at 150 degrees Celsius. Once the pie is baked, take it out of the oven and let it cool for ten minutes. Then, place it in the fridge and leave it overnight or up to eight hours to let it set.
6. Prepare the toppings by chopping small pieces of the lime and by whipping the cream until it becomes stiff. Add it into a piping tool and pipe it on the sides around the finished pie. Place a small piece of lime (from the one you chopped) on the piped cream.
7. Cut into eight slices then serve and enjoy!
